Precision in the Palm of your Hand

This hand-held, self-contained device provides accurate sampling precisely on target while delivering more tissue in fewer passes.

Using ultrasound guidance, the Cassi II™ immobilization needle is positioned precisely in the targeted tissue. Next, the patented Stick-Freeze Technology™ immobilizes the lesion as the rotating cutting cannula advances into the secured tissue. The result? Larger samples of intact, contiguous tissue from the targeted area.

Easy-to-use
The unique ergonomic design of the Cassi II allows for easy handling. The Cassi II also saves both time and money as the fully automated and self-contained design requires no capital equipment. The Cassi II performs ideally for office use.

Precise Positioning
The handheld Cassi II is positioned precisely in breast lesions using ultrasound guidance to help assure large tissue samples with fewer passes.

Reliable Samples
Cassi II comes in two sizes - 10G and 12G - which delivers reliable tissue samples using Sanarus’ unique Stick-Freeze Technology, immobilizing the lesion.

Economics
Cassi II has a reimbursable CPT code.

Cassi II Biopsy Procedure

fig1

The breast site is prepared and local anesthesia is injected. Using standard ultrasound guidance, the tip of the securing needle is inserted into and through the lesion to be biopsied.
(Fig. 1)

fig2

After needle insertion, the "stick-freeze" technology is activated by pressing the "Sample" button on the Cassi II device. (Fig. 2)

fig3

The stick-freeze causes tissue surrounding the needle to become adhered to the needle. (Fig. 3)

fig4

Once the freezing is complete, the cutting cannula will rotate and advance automatically over the securing needle and core the tissue specimen. (Fig. 4)

fig5

The Cassi II device is removed immediately after the cannula advances with the tissue specimen adhering to the needle. (Fig. 5)

fig6

By pressing the "Retract" button, the cutting cannula retracts, exposing the tissue sample. (Fig. 6)

fig7

The tissue sample is placed in the specimen tray. (Fig. 7)
